Gembloux Beer - Belgian university brewery
Gembloux Beer is a university brewery located on the Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech campus which combines the discovery of quality production, a place of relaxation and a source of knowledge.
The link between the faculty of Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech and the world of beer is not recent since as early as 1980, students from the Faculty of Agronomic Sciences of Gembloux produced Gembloux Abbey Beer. For almost 40 years, this beer was brewed outside the Gembloux territory.
The following years brought changes: the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of Gembloux was now called Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech and the idea of brewing Gembloux Abbey Beer in Gembloux became a project. Thus, in 2019, Gembloux.beer SA was born with the ambitious vision of renovating a former laboratory on the Faculty campus into a brewery that could serve as a place for relaxation, production and research.
The Gembloux Beer brewery is also:
- A taproom open to the public on Thursday and Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m.
- A restaurant on Thursday and Friday for lunch and dinner.
- Spaces that can be reserved for private and professional events.
- An Agro Gembloux Invest cooperative which allows the Gembloux community - alumni, students, supporters and staff members of Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech and the University of Liège - to invest in sustainable projects.
